There's no need to install the Guest Additions (although it's required if you need the extra functionality.) There's no need to install your PC's motherboard drivers in an XP guest. Once XP is installed as a VM, internet access should be working out-of-the-box. You shouldn't have to go through all the hoops mentioned above just to be able to connect to the internet. i can't connect to the(wireless) internet (and i'm not good with connection problems!) so i can't download the programs i need. :s:sĪs you see i have 1 goal, tried it in different ways and they all failed :p If somebody could help me with 1 of these problems it would be solved and I would be helped a lot. this works, but when i'm in XP i can't find that folder anywhere. So then i tried to download them in mint, creating a shared folder in VB to copy them in. But now i can't connect to the(wireless) internet (and i'm not good with connection problems!) so i can't download the programs i need. installing went fine and xp runs fast without problems. So I decided to install xp on virtualbox, not quite the same as i hoped to do but it should do the trick for my schoolprogs. I searched the net but couldn't find a solution to my problem without the acces to another windows(witch i erased) or a floppy drive(i don't have that). I got some kind of error telling me i did'nt have the hard disk drivers installed on my pc. My first problem occured when i tried to install windows as a extra bootable os. so i've got a lite version of windows xp(stable and fast + only 400mb space). for some school programs i can't use linux.and wine never works good for me.
Now, I can't help it but i just need windows.
I've been using ubuntu for over a year now, and i recently erased my windows7 and installed linuxmint(keeping ubuntu as a secondary os).
